Hampta Pass, Himachal Pradesh

The Hampta pass trek is done during the monsoon season only because the rest of the year the trek is filled with snow. This is a very dramatic trek as the views keep changing as you keep trekking. When you reach the top you will get to the Kullu valley on one side and the Lahaul on the other. Kullu valley will be filled with greenery, forests and flowers. While on the Lahaul side you won’t get to see anything as it only has barren mountains and no vegetation.

This trek is for 6 days with the difficulty level being moderate. From Jobra which is the base camp to the first campsite at Jwara, you will trek for about 5 hours. The next campsite is at Balu ka Ghera which is a 5 km trek. On day 4 you actually cross the Hampta pass to reach the next camp location which is Shea Goru. The next stop after Shea Goru is Chhatru which is also the last place for the trek. On the last day, you drive back from Chhatru to Manali. 

Harishchandragad Trek, Maharashtra

This trek can be completed in a day and it takes you to an altitude of 4,500 ft. It is one of the most difficult treks of Maharashtra. Harishchandragad is considered the pride of Maharashtra and is also an ancient fort. The trek has various routes and all have something unique. At the top, you can find a lot of temples and caves. The trek can be started in 3 different ways.

The first is from Khireshwar village, the next is from Pachnai village and the last route is from Belpada village. The route from Belpada village is very difficult, so if you have experience only then go for this route. The easiest trekking route is from Pachnai, so if you are a beginner then this is the recommended trail. The ideal time for this trek is from August till the month of February. 

Valley Of Flowers, Uttarakhand

The valley of flowers trek is one of the most beautiful treks to go on. It can be completed in a period of 6 days and is not very difficult. It is a very well known trek because it is one of the oldest treks. The route of this trek is to drive from Rishikesh to Govindghat, then on the second day again drive from Govindghat to Pool. From Pool, you start trekking to Ghangaria which will be a 6-hour trek.

The next day you trek from Ghangaria to the valley of flowers and come back to Ghangaria. Day 4 you again start your trek from Ghangaria to go to Hemkund Sahib. On the same day itself, you come back to Ghangaria. On the second last day, you trek back to Poolna and drive back to Govindghat. As it is a monsoon trek the best time for the trek is from July to September. 

Sinhagad Trek, Pune

This trek takes you to Sinhagad fort which was built a long time ago. Sinhagad fort actually means lion fort and is a popular historical place in Pune. The fort has two different entrances, one at Pune and one in Kalyan. The first thing to visit is Rajaram’s tomb. Another attraction on this trek is Kade Lot where the prisoners were punished. Pune is the nearest airport and also the closest railway station. From the airport or railway station, you can book a cab or travel by the local bus. The best season to go for this trek is monsoon season. There are no water sources so make sure you carry enough water. 

Kashmir Great Lakes, Jammu & Kashmir

One of the most scenic treks that you can go for. It is a 7-day trek and is a little difficult. On this trek, you get to see five valleys and seven lakes. This trek proves why Kashmir is called heaven on earth. The valleys, meadows and lakes are something every trekker looks forward to on the trek. You will witness a variety of colours on the trek because with the changing months the flowers also change. This trek has a lot of exploration to be done and it can be done in 7 days’ time.
